Pets In need

Saving lives since 1965! Pets In Need’s mission is to provide animals with loving care and lasting homes, to partner with communities striving to do the same, and to advance our no-kill legacy.

We accomplish our mission by transferring cats and dogs to our facilities from public shelters in the Bay Area and beyond when they are in danger of being euthanized due to space or financial limitations.

Pets In Need has shelters in Redwood City and Palo Alto. We have owned and operated our Redwood City shelter since 1993, and in 2019 we began operating the Palo Alto Animal Shelter in partnership with the City of Palo Alto.

michigan Humane

Michigan Humane was founded in 1877, is the oldest and largest nonprofit animal welfare organization in the state. Each year, Michigan Humane achieves 100 percent adoption of more than 8,000 healthy and treatable animals through compassionate care, community engagement and advocacy for humane treatment.

Michigan Humane operates three adoption centers and four veterinary centers in Detroit, Rochester Hills, Westland and Howell; seven adoption partnerships with Premier Pet Supply, Petco and PetSmart; and both a Cruelty Investigation Department and a Statewide Animal Response Team.

Great plains SPCA

Great Plains SPCA provides lifesaving services for approximately 4,000 animals annually in the greater Kansas City area. Great Plains SPCA exists because of our caring Kansas City community and generous donors. We offer a lifelong, full-circle approach for pets and their human companions with our three-pronged approach: prevention, adoption, retention.

When we began as Animal Haven in 1966, we committed to working as the community shelter, filling in a need that didn’t exist at the time. Today, our commitment remains to the cities and residents we support. As Kansas City’s premium family shelter, we continue to support the nine municipalities with which we are contracted, including Overland Park, Leawood, Lenexa, Mission Hills, Prairie Village, Shawnee, Bonner Springs, Lake Quivira and Johnson County Parks Department and the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department.

Baltimore humane

A crucial member of the Baltimore community for nearly one hundred years, the Baltimore Humane Society is an independent non-profit animal shelter offering services for all stages of pet ownership. The organization works diligently to help homeless animals find necessary medical treatment, behavioral training and, ultimately, a loving forever home.

Adoption fees are halved for senior animals and modified or waived for senior citizens, first responders and military
personnel. The clinic offers free and low-cost spay/neuter, vaccination, and wellness services to the public.

The memorial park offers end-of-life options for beloved pets as well as bereavement support and grief counseling. For
